DiveHive
Free for conservation organisations

Dive data, volunteers and funding for conservation work.

A free partner account brings your organisation consented dive observations in the formats you use, volunteers for your activities, a share of DiveHive’s yearly 1%, and a way to reach every diver before the dive.

The reef work, easier.

What conservation teams tell us is hard, and what changes.

Observations that never reach you

Divers and shops share sightings, debris and coral health with your programme once they opt in, from real dive logs, in the formats you already use.

Too few hands for the work

Run cleanups, surveys and planting for divers and non-divers, with the in-water parts run by a shop with its boat, guides and safety.

Funding that hangs on the next grant

DiveHive gives 1% of its net revenue each year to partners on the platform, split by programme activity, and divers can give through your own donation page.

No way to reach divers before the dive

Your short lessons, rules and notices reach divers before the trip, on the sites they concern.

Which partner are you?

DiveHive works for four kinds of conservation organisation. Find yours and jump to what matters most to it.

What a partnership brings, step by step.

From the dive data to the credentials, this is what DiveHive does for a conservation organisation, most valuable first.

Dive data from every diver who opts in.

Your programme receives real observations from real dives, shared with consent by divers and shops.

  • Sightings, debris and coral health. Species and counts, debris, bleaching and disease, threats and pests such as crown-of-thorns or ghost nets, and protected species.
  • Conditions from the dive logs. Temperature, visibility and current, written down on the dive itself.
  • Quality you can weigh. Guides confirm observations, divers with a relevant certification are marked as trained observers, and unconfirmed reports are labelled.
  • A dashboard and exports in your formats. CSV and Darwin Core shaped for Dive Against Debris, REEF, CoralWatch and iNaturalist. A direct API comes later, once the platforms agree.
  • Consent, region and care. Divers and shops opt in per programme and can withdraw. Sensitive species are coarsened and delayed, and partner data stays in the region of the programme’s area.

Site intelligence and reef trends.

Beyond your own programme, the logs of a whole site add up to something you can read.

  • Conditions by month. Visibility, water temperature and current at each site, month by month.
  • Marine-life calendars. Which species are likely at a site, and in which month.
  • Reef-health trends and alerts. Coral health and threats per site over time, and an alert when several divers report severe bleaching or a crown-of-thorns outbreak within a week.
  • Honest about confidence. Few, some or many reports, with the period covered. Below the threshold a site shows no figure. Always anonymised, never per shop.
  • Open for research. A research-only export of anonymised aggregates, approved case by case.

A share of DiveHive’s 1%, and donations.

Conservation partners are supported by the platform, not charged by it.

  • 1% of net revenue, every year. DiveHive pays 1% of its net revenue, after payment fees and tax, to the conservation partners on the platform.
  • Shared by programme activity. The split follows programme activity and is published in a public yearly impact report.
  • Donations go direct. Divers see a “Support you” link to your own donation page. DiveHive takes nothing and tracks no amounts.
  • Shops can pledge per dive. A shop can say it donates a set amount per dive to you. You confirm it before it shows as confirmed.
How the 1% works

Volunteers and activities, at scale.

Underwater and beach cleanups, reef surveys, coral and mangrove planting, species monitoring and talks, for divers and non-divers.

  • Open to more than divers. Certified divers, snorkelers, land helpers, and children with a guardian. You set who can join each activity.
  • In-water parts run by a shop. The shop brings its boat, guides and safety routine, as on any trip.
  • A calendar that finds people. Land parts are event slots with sign-up, shown in the area calendar. Non-divers join with a light account. Free, or cost covered at the shop.
  • New ocean people, on their own terms. After a land or snorkel activity, non-divers get one invitation to try diving next time, if they opt in.

Reach every diver before the dive.

Your guidance arrives while divers are still planning, not after.

  • Your lessons, three to five minutes. Text and images or a link to your own video, with a short three-question check. Shown before trips to the sites and species they concern, never blocking.
  • A responsible-diver status. Pledged, then learned after a lesson, then active after a conservation activity or dive within a year. Shops may favour it softly, never require it.
  • Your rules and notices where divers read them. On site pages and in trips, and pinned on the local news board, which carries no ads.
  • Templates shops attach to bookings. Your guidelines go out as “read before your trip” with a booking.
  • In your languages. Add your own translations. DiveHive provides templates in ten languages.

Marine park management.

Draw your zones, set the rules, and see who visits.

  • Zones and rules. No-take, a daily limit on divers, mooring only and more, linked to the dive sites.
  • A park fee, suggested to shops. Set the fee per diver in local currency. Shops can add it to a trip, and the money goes straight to you.
  • Opening and closure notices. Pinned for shops and divers, and shown as the site’s status.
  • Anonymous visitor counts. Daily and monthly numbers per site and park, shown only once at least five divers are counted. Counts per shop come only from linked shops that agree.
  • Warnings, never blocks. A trip that conflicts with a rule gets a warning. The shop makes the call.

A network of partner shops.

The dive shops you work with are linked to you on DiveHive.

  • “We work with you”, then you confirm. A shop asks to be linked, you confirm, and the link shows on both pages.
  • Co-hosted activities. Linked shops co-host your activities and run the in-water parts.
  • Your briefings and rules reach them first. Linked shops receive your briefings and rules.
  • Impact on their pages. Shops show an impact card with their conservation work, so divers see who takes part.

Your public partner page.

One page for your organisation, set up once and kept by your own team.

  • Mission and programmes. Say what you do and which programmes divers and shops can join.
  • Shops, activities and impact. Your partner shops, upcoming activities and impact figures on one page.
  • A donate link. It points to your own donation page.
  • Roles for your team. Admin, coordinator and researcher, so each person sees what their work needs.

Credentials, if you run one.

A shop asks for your credential on DiveHive, and you decide.

  • Verify, expire, revoke. Confirm the level or score, set the expiry date, and withdraw it whenever you need to.
  • “Verified by” on the shop’s page. Divers see your name beside the credential.
  • A discount for holders. Shops with a verified credential get 10% off their DiveHive plan while it stays valid.

Free, and never a customer.

A partner account costs nothing, now or later.

  • Free, always. No fee, no trial, no plan to upgrade to.
  • No paid placement.Nobody can buy a better position on a partner list or a shop page.
  • Donations go direct.Divers are linked to your donation page. DiveHive takes no cut and tracks no amounts.
  • Park fees go direct.Shops pay the fee to you. No money moves through DiveHive.

Questions partners ask.

What does it cost?

Nothing. Conservation organisations are never customers, and there is no paid placement.

Who counts as a partner?

Conservation organisations: eco-label programmes, NGOs, marine park managers and research groups.

Who sees the dive data?

You receive only observations from divers who agreed to share them with your programme. Sensitive locations stay coarse.

Does money pass through DiveHive?

No. Donations and park fees go direct. DiveHive gives 1% of its net revenue each year to partners on the platform, with a public report.

What data can we receive, and in which formats?

Consented observations from dive logs: sightings, debris, coral health, threats, protected species and conditions. Exports are CSV and Darwin Core, shaped for Dive Against Debris, REEF, CoralWatch and iNaturalist. Those are formats we export to, not partners, and nothing is submitted without the diver’s consent.

How does the 1% share work?

DiveHive gives 1% of its net revenue, after payment fees and tax, each year to the conservation partners on the platform. It is split by programme activity and published in a public yearly impact report. It is separate from donations, which go straight to you.

Can non-divers join activities?

Yes. Beach cleanups, talks and planting have land slots, and snorkelers and children with a guardian can take part where you allow it. Non-divers join with a light account. Only the in-water dives need a certification.

Can divers and shops withdraw?

Yes, at any time. Withdrawing stops future sharing. Sensitive species are coarsened and delayed either way.
